CLASS CONNECT

 

Growing Families offers three class formats:

Online Classes: Class participants stream each week’s video lesson on line, and then at a set time, meet on line with a Growing Families Leader to discuss the lesson.

Advantages:

  • View lesson anytime and as many times as needed

  • Classes may be multinational

  • No traveling or childcare needed

  • Parents can apply principles prior to class time

  • More time for group questions and discussion

  • No geographic restrictions when participating

Disadvantages

  • Classes in 2D. (Personal interactions limited with online chats.)

Flip Classes

Class participants stream the video lesson on line prior to meeting, then come together at a physical venue to discuss the lesson. (Flip Class Inquires.)

Advantages:

  • View lesson anytime and as many times as needed

  • Class meeting times are 3D. (In person interaction)

  • Parents can apply principles prior to class time

  • More time for group questions and discussion.

  • Classes can meet in a variety of venues including home, church, coffee shops)

Disadvantages:

  • Childcare needed

  • Growing Families does not have a data base of when classes are offered or by whom

  • Home classes not available in all geographic centers or regions

Local Groups

Class participants come together at a common venue and together watch video and then discuss the lesson. (Local Group Class Inquires.)

Advantages:

  • Class meeting times are 3D. (In person interaction)

  • Immediate shared feedback on lesson

  • In Home Small Groups can be in a variety of venues, including homes, church facilities, or schools

Disadvantages:

  • Limited time to process content

  • Limited time to ask questions or discuss principle

  • Childcare needed

  • Growing Families does not have a data base of when classes are offered or by whom

  • Home classes not available in all geographic regions
