About Us
Growing Families Australia (GFA) is a Christian organisation committed to providing the Australian family, church and community with GrowingFamilies.life parenting resources that will help instil, encourage, and perpetuate the passing on of biblical values from one generation to the next.
Our mission statement is:
“To support and disciple parents in biblical parenting to help them reach the heart of their child and raise strong families in Jesus.”
We are staffed by volunteer parents who have been positively impacted by the material, and wish to share it with others so they too can benefit from applying the principles of biblical parenting to their family. Our vision is to reach our nation one family at a time with the message of hope that reflects God’s love to all mankind as expressed in His Son, Jesus Christ.
National Overseeing Team
The “National Overseeing Team” is a group of two couples who have been unanimously endorsed by the GFA leadership community. The two couples are: Geoff & Alicia Bongers and Shannon and Jo Hood.

Geoff and Alicia Bongers have been a family since 1993, have 4 adult children and have been involved with Growing Families since 1997. We love being a Growing Families family and really enjoy being part of this ministry serving in many ways. Most of all we try and define God to the world so we can help the world find God.
Shannon & Jo Hood have been involved in Growing Families since 2006 in a variety of ways. We have been married since 1996 and have 1 adult child and 3 teenagers. We love partnering with parents to encourage and coach them so they too can fully enjoy God’s design for children to be a blessing to family and community.
National Office
Geoff & Alicia Bongers are the Growing Families Australia Administration Managers and live in Eatons Hill, Queensland. They run the GFA National Office administration and distribution centre. To contact the National Office please email or call +61 402 210 184.
History
Australian Founders
This amazing ministry has been available in Australia since the late '80's. In November '96, Bill and Joan Grosser were appointed as founding National Directors of Growing Families for Australia. They began using the materials in '90, after they had met Gary and Anne Marie, and realised that this material was urgently needed in Australia and faithfully introduced it to many right across Australia.
At the 2012 GFA National Conference, Bill & Joan Grosser announced their decision to step down from active duties as National Directors. As part of their announcement, they formally handed over active duties to the “National Overseeing Team.”
Past NOST Leaders
Peter and Michelle Foote have been involved in Growing Families Australia since 1997 in a variety of capacities. They served as part of the NOST from 2012 until 2022. Their faithful dedication to Growing Families Australia has impacted many.
Past NOST Leaders & Admin/Business Role
Andy and Robyn Hamdorf have been involved with Growing Families since 1996 and held a number of different roles in that time. In 2007 they took on the administration and business role of GFA, which included distribution of the materials and all business administration. They also served on the NOST from 2012 until end of 2023. They have been a blessing to all during their dedicated service.
